Aqeedah (Theology)

Welcome to the Aqeedah (Theology) course, a core module of the Aalimah Program offered by the Darul Ilm Department (DID). This course is designed to provide students with a firm foundation in Islamic theology, establishing core beliefs with authentic proofs and scholarly consensus.

Course Overview & Text

The primary text for the advanced stages of this course is Al-Aqeedah Al-Tahawiyyah (Course Code: ATA3006). As students progress, the curriculum covers everything from the foundational Fiqh of Aqeedah to the detailed theological frameworks of classical Islamic scholarship.

Core Focus Areas

Throughout this course, students will engage in a deep and structured study of Islamic theology, focusing on:

  • Quranic Evidences (Dalail): Understanding the proofs from the Quran regarding the existence, oneness, and attributes of Allah ﷻ.

  • Classical Theology: A thorough study of the foundational tenets of faith as outlined by classical scholars.

  • Scholarly Differences (Ikhtilafat): A guided, balanced discussion of important theological differences and historical sects, without delving into excessive or confusing detail.

  • In-Depth Commentary: Cross-referencing theological concepts with the Mishkat-ul-Masabih Sharh for a deeper, comprehensive understanding of the Sunnah's perspective on Aqeedah.

Teaching Methodology
  • Live Instruction: The course is delivered through live sessions where instructors break down complex theological concepts.

  • Prerequisite Study: Students are expected to complete any pre-recorded materials or assigned readings prior to live discussion sessions.

  • Active Participation: Students must actively engage in class discussions, ask questions, and take detailed notes on key principles for long-term retention.

Assessment & Requirements
  • Passing Grade: A minimum score of 90% is required to successfully pass the course examinations.

  • Attendance: Students must maintain at least 75% attendance in live sessions to be eligible for the final assessments.

  • Moodle Engagement: Active participation, timely assignment submissions, and consistent engagement on Moodle are strictly monitored.
